The current curfew has put a stop on all cultural events. This puts artists and their art in a very difficult situation because an important part of their creative process is to show the fruits of their work to the public.
To oppose this, a Facebook & Instagram page, called “ART STUDIO VIEWING”, has been launched to allow artists to show their studio. Depending on the situation, it may be their studio at home or their temporary studio that they have set up spontaneously.
The artists film their own studios and present their work in a video of a few minutes.A visit of an artist’s studio by an artist himself is always very emotional, as the viewer steps into the intimacy and the core of artistic creativity. There are as many forms of studios as there are artists, and these, personalized by their presence and their work, function as a kind of self-portrait.
The studio videos presented here, filmed by the artists themselves, reflect multiple meanings: What does the artist show in his studio, what does it say about him, with which linguistic elements and in which form.
